16th St Albans Guides

Starting on Monday 27th April 2015, the 16th St Albans Guides (girls aged 10 to 14) will meet from 7.15pm to 8.45pm on Mondays in St Julian's Church Hall, Abbots Avenue.

Enquiries to Jenny Smith at admin@16thguides.org.uk

If you want to add your daughter to the waiting list, you can do so online at http://girlguiding.org.uk/get_involved/volunteer/register_your_interest.aspx

Guides take part in a wide range of exciting activities at their regular meetings, and at special events or holidays. The girls can get involved in anything from adventure sports to performing arts, travel and taking part in community action projects.

Guides work together in small groups or "Patrols" and, with the support of an adult Leader, choose and run some of the activities themselves using "Go for It!" resource packs.

The Guide programme is divided into five areas:

  • discovery of new experiences and challenges
  • healthy lifestyles
  • global awareness
  • skills and relationships
  • celebrating diversity.
