Alban Way

The Alban Way starts in Sopwell and can be accessed from Leyland Avenue, off Cottonmill Lane.

The route was once the St Albans to Hatfield railway line and is now a trail for cyclists and walkers.

The route is about 6.5 miles long and has become part of National Route 61, one of the routes of Sustrans' National Cycle Network.

The St Albans City & District website has more information including a leaflet that you can download, with a map of the route and interesting features along the way.

Great views may be seen of the Abbey from this pathway!
