Public Parks Consultation

Public parks inquiryThe "Communities and Local Government Committee" of Parliament has launched an inquiry into public parks.

They want to examine the impact of reduced local authority budgets on these open spaces and consider concerns that their existence is under threat.

The easiest way to contribute and let the Committee know that you value your local park is to fill in the on-line questionnaire.

You can also submit your own "evidence" (read the Terms of Reference) via the Public Parks Inquiry's home page.

The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2016.

There is also a petition on 38 Degrees.org.uk that you can sign, calling on the government to make protecting our parks a legal requirement.
