The committee

According to our constitution, the committee may consist of a maximum of 15 members. We would be delighted if you would like to join the committee. Further members can be co-opted as required.

To give you an idea of what we do, have a look at an overview of our first 10 years: 2003-2013 (PDF).

If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact us and we will explain the procedure. Alternatively, read the election rules in our constitution.

SRA committee meeting at Sopwell House January 2013

How do I contact the committee?

Please see the Contact Us page on this website for details.

Does a committee member get paid?

The simple answer is no. As a voluntary organisation we do not get any financial reward for our work. We all live in Sopwell ward and are committed to improving the quality of this beautiful area. We do not receive any monies for what we do.

When is the next meeting?

The committee meets every other month or so and these meetings are generally for members of the committee only. However if you wish to attend, you can do so as a guest.

In addition, we have at least two general, public meetings a year where all Sopwell residents are invited to attend. Dates for these meetings are announced on this website as well as in the newsletter that is delivered to all households in the Sopwell ward.
