We have a number of groups focussed on specific local issues that meet under the SRA umbrella, each chaired by a member of Sopwell Residents Association. Sopwell eco-stars who work to build community resiliance in the face of climate change and environmental crises.
Events Group – who organise the annual community festival the Cottonmill Gathering and various other groups e.g. Quiz Nights; Autumn Festival and more.
The Cottonmill and Sopwell Hub group which campaigned successfully over 6 years to get the Cottonmill Community and Cycling Centre built – and now attend the regular Council Forum meetings as a regular user and interested party.
Sopwell Litter Pickers – who organise regular litter picks around the ward.
